This respected global law firm is ranked in the top 10 within the United States and maintains a robust Labor & Employment practice known for representing major employers in a wide range of employment-related litigation and advisory matters. The Miami office is a growing hub and the firm is seeking to bring on a couple high-level associates with no more than 5-7 years of experience, and a background in handling high-profile employment litigation and labor matters in defense of Fortune 500 corporations and other top bespoke corporate clients.

Description:
The firm is seeking an entry-level to midlevel associate (0–5 years of experience) to join its Labor & Employment team in Miami. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm experience in employment law, but the team is open to recent graduates or general litigators eager to transition into this specialty. Candidates must be comfortable in fast-paced litigation and client service environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting litigation matters involving wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, and class/collective actions

  • Drafting and arguing motions, briefs, and handling electronic discovery (ESI)

  • Conducting legal research, client interviews, and witness preparation

  • Engaging in federal and state court litigation as well as arbitration proceedings

  • Advising clients on employment best practices, compliance, and policies

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited and top rated law school.

  • Admission to the Florida Bar, without fail, at the time of hire.
  • 1–5 years of experience with an absolutely exceptional academic portfolio, top 10% of graduating class, with either law clerkship or judicial (federal preferred) clerkship experience

  • Published articles in reputable law journals or extensive published opinion pieces, demonstrating superior legal analysis and writing prowess.

  • Outstanding oral debate skill, preferably a participant in Moot Court during law school with a track record of delivering convincing arguments and deliberating on complex and high-level legal topics.
  • Proficiency towards emerging legal issues and complex topics of law, especially related to the workplace.

Preferred Skills:

  • Labor & Employment experience in traditional employment litigation and labor matters.

  • Prior experience handling large scale mediations and arbitrations of labor disputes.

  • Expertise in class action or mass tort defense, knowledge of federal labor laws (FSLA, EEO), state wage and hour law, and defense of workplace claims such as discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination.

  • Leader in Electronic Storage Information (ESI) and managing discovery utilizing litigation technology.

  • Trial preparation and expert motion practice with full knowledge of all motions and pleadings, how to maneuver them in court and terrific understanding of processes and procedures.
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language relevant to the demographics in Miami's diverse ecosystem.
