Job description:
A well-established mechanical services contractor operating across the DC Metro Area is looking for a skilled and motivated Lead HVAC Technician to take charge in the field. This role is ideal for a senior technician who enjoys solving complex HVAC challenges while guiding and supporting a team to deliver outstanding results.
You will play a key role in maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency across residential and commercial HVAC projects, acting as both a technical expert and a hands-on leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise HVAC technicians on-site
- Perform advanced HVAC installations, maintenance, and repair work
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues efficiently
- Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication and professionalism
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and regulations
- Manage tools, materials, and inventory for assigned projects
- Conduct preventative maintenance and system inspections
- Complete service reports, job documentation, and time tracking accurately
- Support scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of field teams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support when required
Qualifications:
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal HVAC training preferred
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
- EPA Section 608 Certification is required
- Proven leadership skills with a problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass required drug screening
