About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of custom machinery and automation solutions, is seeking a CNC Programmer with strong electrical engineering experience to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and troubleshooting CNC mills and lathes, as well as designing and implementing electrical systems for automation projects. This role blends hands-on CNC programming with electrical engineering, requiring a versatile skill set to support complex, customized machinery builds.
Key Responsibilities

Program and set up CNC mills and lathes to meet production and customer specifications

Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for accuracy, efficiency, and quality output

Design, test, and implement electrical systems for machinery and automation projects

Program and troubleshoot PLC/PMC systems (Fanuc preferred)

Apply electrical troubleshooting skills using diagnostic tools, including volt/current meters, with low voltage DC and 120/240/460 VAC systems

Collaborate with end users to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet operational and production needs

Update and maintain CNC programs, electrical documentation, specifications, and project records

Work independently to manage programming and engineering projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards

Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and end users through clear written and oral communication
Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; equivalent hands-on CNC programming experience may be considered

Proven experience programming CNC mills and lathes (G-code, CAM software)

Hands-on experience with PLC/PMC systems; Fanuc strongly preferred

AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred, but not required

Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with low voltage DC and AC systems up to 460 VAC

Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and CNC part drawings

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
