Payroll Manager is responsible for the overall responsibility for processing payroll for the North America by generating weekly and biweekly multi-state and multi-company payroll. (With HR assistance from the plants) Manages the operational activities related to the generation and distribution of payroll checks in a centralized payroll operation. Resolves payroll-related issues. Works closely and collaborates with Human Resources, Finance and Accounting. Acts as SAP Payroll subject matter expert.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for all timely and accurate payroll processing and distribution for all facilities in the US;
2. In charge of all timely and accurate data entry of Payroll application (SAP)
3. Responsible for monthly tracking of medical, life, dental, etc. insurance costs of all facilities in the US;
4. Responsible for all IRS and state payroll tax reporting (940, 941, SUTA, W2, W3), and deposits;
5. In charge of facilitating annual audit of 401k program;
6. In charge of facilitating annual audit of Compensation audit;
7. Assist Human Resource department annual filing of IRS form 5500;
8. Assist Human Resource department in establishing and maintaining policy and procedure for employee recruitment, benefits and relations;
9. Expertise in both Federal and state employment law, tax, and compliance;
10. Expertise in taxable employee benefits, (e.g. life insurance, relocation);
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of payroll management and operations experience in a multi-plant environment.
- Expertise with SAP Payroll module.
- High Volume payroll experience required (3,000+ paychecks).
- Multi-state payroll processing experience required.
- Experience with payroll Tax compliance preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and advanced MS Excel experience mandatory.
