Title: Financial Modeling Analyst
 
Department: Managed Care Growth and Integrations
 
Reports to: Vice President, Growth and Integrations
 
The Team: The Growth and Integrations Team is responsible for onboarding new business, executing managed care contracts, and evaluating new markets and services opportunities.  Our organization is one of the largest physician-owned and physician-led acute care medical groups in the United States.
 
What You’ll Do: You’ll apply your analytical and strategic skills to solve complex business problems. You will support Growth leadership by producing key analytics, financial models, reports, and recommendations. You will conceptualize and scope new service lines and revenue streams in support of growth. You’re an excel master, conversational with off-the-shelf BI tools and eager to further develop your facility with these tools.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
 
• Provide historical and projected contract analysis during managed care contract negotiations
• Develop and maintain analytical packages and standard reports to model payer performance to existing contracts
• Create negotiation recommendations, strategies, and tactics
• Support independent dispute resolution/arbitration processes in each of our markets
• Develop business presentations and support materials to further managed care and client focused business discussions
• Evaluate the impact of chargemasters update and market changes to payer contracts
• Scope market opportunities for the company; assess operational, technical, and financial requirements to build or buy capabilities to create new products and services
• Research and understand the regulatory environment and other barriers to entry for new market opportunities, and the impact to current operations in existing markets
• Create proformas and models to forecast financial performance of new products and services
• Frame the business case for new market opportunities; present opportunities to the Leadership Team
• Build models to assess the financial impact of staff changes and workflow efficiencies
• Support special projects sponsored by Finance and Growth teams
 
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant healthcare/RCM experience required
• Deep experience using Practice Management systems, SQL/BI Tools and Excel to create ad hoc and executive-level reporting packages
• Knowledge of and/or ability to use industry data/applications such as Fair Health, Stratasan and Optum
• Excellent analytical skills; you can analyze a data set, identify issues, develop solutions, and communicate your work effectively to Leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
