TITLE: Nurse Director for Emergency Department(90K +)

The System Nursing Director for the Emergency Departments of the Health System and has the responsibility, authority and accountability for the clinical, financial and personnel management of the emergency departments with consultation and guidance responsibility for another Emergency Department.
This director will lead the departments in a manner that is collaborative and congruent with the organizational mission, service line goals emergency department standards of care, along with implementing Behavorial Health standards of care.
This director will report to the Chief Nursing Officer of the health system with collaborative partnerships with the ED Service Line Administrator and Emergency Department Medical Director.
This leader will assure legal and regulatory compliance as it pertains to the departments as well as the organization.
Expectations of excellent patient experience and clinical quality will be articulated and formulated in operational plans and outcomes will be monitored.
The director is responsible for working collaboratively will all hospital entities’ to improve patient flow.
The System Director for the Emergency Departments is responsible for fostering relationships that promote interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaboration that will benefit the organization, patients and employees.
Current NYS nursing licensure.
Master's degree prepared in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or other related field required.
If applicant's Master's degree is not in nursing, they must possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Person needs to have 5 years Director experience in a Level II or Level III Trauma Center.
Prior Director and change management experience required; Lean or Six Sigma Operational methodology experience preferred.
Prior experience in Magnet Facility preferred. Prior proven experience and expertise in clinical area relevant to patient population (minimum 5 years clinical experience).
Ability to lead team along with the Medical Director to improve EDCAHPS.
BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
Other Info:
Oversight of the Emergency Department that averages about 40K visits per year.
Will supervise between 50 FTE's. They do have an Assistant Director of ED, Clinical Coordinator and Processor/Admin Coordinator.
Position will report to the System CNO.
The successful candidate will assume twenty-four hour responsibility for the department.
Looking for someone that can improve patient experience, improve quality outcomes and improve patient flow.
Department is in the midst of a renovation.
Current EMR is Quadrame but looking to convert to EPIC.
Someone with ED renovation/project experience preferred along with clinical background experience in Behavioral Health.
Proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with community services.
Previous experience working in a teaching hospital preferred.
Compensation is based on experience and the range is between $100K-120K and the facility offers full benefits and a relocation package as well.
