This is a search for an AVP, Accounting with an investment fund backed, acquisitive, fast-growing, yet established, Life & Annuity carrier, that encourages associates to take a holistic view of the business.  Because of their mid-size, associates get involved in much and become part of the fabric of supporting the continued scale up of this carrier while coming away with really understanding how the business works vs. being exclusively silo-ed in a function. Great place to move the needle and make an impact.

The carrier is founder led by a CEO and a team who have extensive expertise in private equity, insurance, investment banking, Big 4, and who are well known and well-respected leaders in the life & annuity space.

Their mission is to structure risk management solutions for their clients who are primarily other insurance carriers who have a need to transition in force life and annuity blocks of business. The carrier has deep financial backing and has a strong history of structuring significant, creative solutions for their clients. Through some acquisitions, the company also writes live risk, but the bulk of their business is still buying in force blocks of business.

The scope of this role includes Statutory Accounting (Blue Book or Green Book) and GAAP accounting.  Experience with Life Insurance, Annuities or Separate Accounts is definitely helpful. A CPA/MBA is a plus. There is Short Term Bonus plus a Long Term Bonus Incentive Plan on top of the base salary. Public/Private or recent public accounting experience would be a plus. The home office is in CT, but this carrier has locations in Chicago, TX and IA.  A candidate who lives close to these offices, or a remote candidate who can make occasional trips to the home office will be considered.
