Bioinformatics Scientist
My well-funded biotech client is expanding and seeks a Bioinformatics Scientist to support their cancer immunotherapy team. The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks:
- Develop and optimize NGS-based software including variant calling, gene expression, epigenetic analyses, single-cell sequencing
- Integrate diverse NGS and non-NGS data sets to identify cancer drivers, predictive biomarkers, and mechanistic hypotheses
- Apply statistical fundamentals to biological datasets
- Design and implement novel computational approaches
- Develop applications using Python, R, C/C++, and other programming languages
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- PhD in Bioinformatics coupled with a strong track record of publications or patents
- Experience with mining public data sets, such as TCGA, GTEx, and CCLE
- Fluency in SAM, BAM, VCF file format specifications and other standard bioinformatic formats
- Understanding protein structure and/or experience in structure modeling is a plus.
