TITLE: Dosimetrist
LOCATION: east of Columbus, OHIO

If so, an opportunity exists to work with an integrated health care system based in east central Ohio who is looking for someone to join their team.
The system is a not-for-profit and has over 300 physicians and multiple outpatient care centers throughout the area.
The system is the largest provider in a six county region and a primary referral center.
It offers a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery and
comprehensive cancer services.

Summary:
The Dosimetrist is responsible for treatment planning for external beam and brachytherapy, dose calculations and measurements, and various quality assurance activities.
Must work in a team environment with all staff and physicians and assist with any patient care needs as requested.
Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently performs computerized treatment planning on all necessary patients.
Responsible for troubleshooting/problem solving of patient setups during simulation as well as the duration of a patients treatments (immobilization, block fabrication, bolus fabrication, etc.).
Collaboratively functions with physics and physicians to create the most effective treatment plan for a patient’s course of treatment/treatments.
Demonstrates and maintains an understanding of tools and resources used to complete work efficiently and effectively.
Prioritize work in order to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Participates in orientation and education for appropriate staff or students.
Assists in developing policies and procedures relating to dosimetry functions and patient care within the department.
Demonstrates a willingness and interest to cross train in other areas to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications:
Must be board certified in Medical Dosimetry by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB), or be eligible for such certification. Certification must be completed within 2 years from the date of hire.
Excellent planning and organization skills and written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skill and computer skills
Ability to follow instructions to provide patient care in an expedient, precise, warm and friendly manner.
Ability to function with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Cognitive ability to assess situational needs and problem solve.
 
Additional Info:
The department newly opened in 2015 and is a state-of-the-art department. Department is completely paperless and filmless.
The department ACRO, ACoS, HFAP, NSABP Accredited with the Breast Center, QOPI Certified with Medical Oncology.
The staff consists of 1 Clinical Manager, 1.6 Radiology Oncologist, 1.6 Rn OCN, 2 FT Physicist, 2 FT CMD's, 5 Staff RTT(1 on call RTT).
Position is a Monday-Friday day position.
The pay is based on experience and the range is 91K-122K and the facility offers a great benefit package and will assist with relocation.
