Production Maintenance Mechanic | High-Speed Packaging

Location: Montgomery, AL (On-site)

Pay: $27 to $32 per hour plus a sign-on bonus

Schedule: 1st shift and 2nd shift openings available

Overview

A large, privately owned high speed foods manufacturer needs two mechanics for a plant it opened recently, one for days and one for evenings. The site runs fast filling and packaging lines on new equipment, and the maintenance crew is what keeps those lines moving. You will work right alongside production and report to your shift supervisor.

What the Job Involves

·       Get production machinery back up quickly when it goes down, and keep downtime to a minimum

·       Track down problems by watching and listening to equipment while it runs, then confirm with test and measurement tools

·       Set and calibrate machine parts and controls with hand tools, levels, and gauges

·       Handle scheduled PM work on the filling and packaging lines

·       Figure out the root cause, decide on the fix, and see it through

·       Keep spare parts and supplies stocked so a repair never waits on a part

·       Show operators simple care routines that prevent breakdowns

·       Write up repairs and open issues so the next shift knows where things stand

What They Need

·       1-5+ years in manufacturing maintenance, a technical maintenance degree, or a combination of both

·       Solid mechanical ability and an orderly way of troubleshooting

·       Comfort with basic shop math and everyday computer tools like spreadsheets

·       Accurate paperwork and the ability to follow written procedures

·       Good communication with operators, supervisors, and outside vendors
