***Contract role***

A leading engineering, procurement and construction firm is adding a Senior Electrical Engineer to its data center practice in Tualatin (Portland area) on a contract-to-hire basis. The full-time assignment (40 hours/week) runs through an estimated April 2027, with conversion to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Location: Onsite 5 days/week at the firm's Tualatin, OR office. The role is also open at the firm's other U.S. offices: Overland Park, KS; Ann Arbor, MI; Bloomington, MN; Canonsburg, PA; Cary, NC; Dallas, TX; Darien, IL; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Orlando, FL; and Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed electrical design of large-scale (hyperscale) data center environments; may lead the design team
• Work with engineering project teams and field personnel to deliver projects on scope, budget and schedule
• Advise on design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency
• Conduct field surveys and assess existing facilities
• Prepare and review technical drawings, models, engineering studies, reports and detailed calculations
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers
• Coordinate directly with clients, which include many of the top companies in the data center industry

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
• 11+ years of related experience
• Required: prior experience on hyperscale data centers of at least 40 MW
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM (BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit work sets and view templates a plus)
• PE license preferred (or actively pursuing)
• Understanding of hyperscale, edge and colocation design differences and data center tier ratings preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction
• Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week at one of the listed offices
