TorontoJobs Recruiting Division is searching on behalf of our client for an active Financial Analyst opportunity in the Hamilton Region. This is a full-time, on-site position within a small head office finance team. The role reports to the Senior Financial Analyst and is open due to increased workload and the need for additional support. Some overtime should be expected.
This opportunity is suited for a detail-oriented and self-motivated finance professional who is eager to contribute in a hands-on environment. The client is open to candidates with a CPA or those working toward one, but will also consider candidates without that background if they bring the right experience and attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze financial data and develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and business planning
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and investigate causes of unexpected variances
Perform regular reconciliations of the general ledger to subledgers to ensure the accuracy of financial records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, including:
Bank reconciliations
Parts and equipment reconciliations
Work-in-progress (WIP) reconciliation
Open receiver reconciliation
Branch transfer reconciliation
Vendor reconciliations
Miscellaneous balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including daily and month-end journal vouchers, in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
Support inventory accounting processes by reviewing cycle counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, and ensuring accurate valuation
Collaborate with operations to ensure proper tracking and accounting of inventory movements and adjustments
Submit payments and financing documentation to the organizations financing partner
Allocate and review expenses posted to designated accounts
Review and approve employee expense reports in Concur to ensure compliance with company policies
Investigate and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies, including warranty AR corrections and the application of credits
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules and audit documentation
Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth, cost control, and operational efficiency
Work closely with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to align financial reporting and strategies with organizational goals

Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset, but not required
Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and month-end processes
Experience working with cross-functional teams including accounting, AP, operations, and leadership
Comfortable working fully on-site, five days per week, within the Hamilton Region and nearby surrounding areas
Strong attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in contributing beyond just completing routine tasks
Experience with Concur or similar expense management systems is an asset
