Job description:

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with instructors to prepare, administer, and grade exams; contributes to final course evaluations
• Tracks and submits class attendance and grades
• Assists with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives
• Plans and conducts orientation for new faculty (theory and clinical)
• Applies adult learning principles in teaching
• Continuously improves instructional quality
• Uses or learns online tools to enhance course content and interactive teaching
• Maintains student records (attendance, skills check-offs) and assists with program data collection
• Submits required program reports and forms on time
• Stays current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Participates in program-supporting committees
• Attends faculty meetings
• Plans and supervises student clinical experiences
• Evaluates clinical performance based on learning outcomes and department policies
• Provides immediate feedback after observing clinical performance
• Ensures clinical assignments meet student and facility needs
• Selects optimal methods to observe, instruct, and evaluate students
• Verifies clinical facilities meet health and safety requirements
• Maintains availability for students (office hours, email, etc.)
• Participates in student advising

Qualifications:

• No prior teaching experience required faculty development training provided
• Valid, active Registered Nurse license issued by the State Board
• Masters degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited institution, including coursework in nursing, education, administration, OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry
• At least 4 years of direct patient care experience as a registered nurse
• At least 1 year of clinical experience within the last 5 years (clinical teaching counts toward direct patient care)
• Clinically competent per CCR Section 1420(c)
• Expertise in one of the following: Pediatrics or OB-Gyn
