Thermal Sales Representative - Northwest U.S. Territory

Our client has a direct hire Thermal Sales Professional position available in the Northwest U.S. territory, which covers the states of Northern California, Northern Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Western Wyoming.  This is a remote (work out of home) position but must travel 60% of the time to prospective and existing clients.   Base salary, plus commission and bonus if quota is satisfied.  This position will have a company car (sedan), a company cell phone, a company laptop, and other office equipment as needed.
 
The Thermal Sales Representative is responsible for selling and promoting industrial boilers and associated equipment and services to prospective clients. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs and offering tailored thermal products that meet their specifications. They are responsible for nurturing existing client relationships, as well as forging new ones to drive forward opportunities and contribute to the company's growth and market presence.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops a deep understanding of the company’s thermal products and their applications.
  • Identifies and targets potential customers in need of thermal management solutions across various industries.
  • Schedules meetings and makes phone calls to corporate managers, engineers, architects, or other professional and technical personnel to convince prospective clients of the desirability and practicability of Clients equipment and services offered.
  • Creates technical presentations of what Client has to offer and effectively presents products and services to potential customers.
  • Contacts customers to negotiate terms and finalize sales and service orders in a timely manner.
  • Prepares, presents, and submits accurate and detailed quotations of Company equipment and services provided.
  • Maintains accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Fosters strong customer relationships by analyzing customer needs, responding to inquiries, and following up on customer issues to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with internal teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of equipment.
  • Participates in cross-functional meetings to align sales strategies with company goals; contributes to the formulation of sales growth plans for assigned territories.
  • Prepares monthly forecasting and expenses reports.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Excellent skills in value selling and price negotiations.
  • Ability to work independently and with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Knowledge of Contact Management System and Microsoft Office 365

TRAVEL:

This position will require travel and overnight stay, approximately 60% of the time, primarily within the assigned territory.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with heavy equipment sales background.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in industrial or commercial steam market.
  • Ability to review and explain mechanical and electrical drawings.

Employee is frequently required to sit while driving a motor vehicle. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
