Our client, an AmLaw 150 global law firm, is seeking a talented Banking & Finance Associate Attorney to join its thriving Finance Practice in New York. This role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious attorney who thrives in a high-performance, collaborative environment and is eager to take on substantial responsibility in complex lending transactions.
Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing
- 2–4 years of substantive banking and finance experience
- Experience in transactional lending, preferably leveraged lending
- Background drafting and negotiating commitment papers, term sheets, credit agreements, and security documents
- Exposure to direct lending or private equity sponsor-side work preferred
- Experience advising banks or acting as lending counsel is a plus
- Soft Skills: Strong drafting, analytical, communication, and organizational abilities
- Proven ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate transactional documents, including commitment letters, term sheets, credit agreements, and security documentation
- Support leveraged finance transactions for lender-side and borrower-side clients
- Conduct due diligence and identify legal and commercial risks
- Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Manage workstreams and coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams
- Partner with attorneys across related practices to execute complex financing matters

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive Salary: Annual base salary is expected to range from $235,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors
