A top-15 AmLaw firm is seeking a talented mid-level Associate Attorney to join its highly-regarded Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group in DC. This is an exceptional opportunity for a mid-level associate interested in handling sophisticated insurance coverage litigation matters at a large firm with an international footprint.
Candidate Profile

JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

Active Bar Admission in DC, in good standing.

4–6 years of substantive litigation experience, with an insurance coverage focus.
- Candidates with complex litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in handling insurance coverage litigation, dispute analysis, and coverage assessments will also be considered.

An interest in emerging risks in insurance and environmental and products liability underlying litigation is required.

Litigation Experience: Strong background in litigation, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing discovery and motion practice, taking and defending depositions, and making court appearances.

Preferred candidates will have extensive experience with client management, business development, and the independent management of cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Judicial clerkship in a Federal District Court or Appellate setting is a plus.

Soft Skills: Exceptional research, writing, analytical, communication, and oral advocacy skills are a must. Ability to thrive both as a team contributor and when working autonomously.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on high-stakes commercial litigation and dispute resolution, including handling dispute analysis and coverage assessments for insurance coverage litigation.
- Draft complex memoranda, case evaluations, including pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents.
- Handle all discovery-related documentation and depositions, working directly with clients, witnesses, experts, and co-counsel.
- Take ownership of litigation strategy and case management, from legal research and initial pleadings through trial and appeal.
- Contribute to the development of long-term business relationships and trusted partnerships.
- Work closely with senior attorneys in a high-profile practice known for handling some of the toughest disputes and litigation battles in the world.
- Stay current on trends and emerging risks, particularly in the insurance, environmental, and products liability areas.
