Position Overview

This role provides specialized nursing care to individuals undergoing oncology treatment within an acute care setting. The nurse is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The position emphasizes compassionate care, clinical excellence, and adherence to professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving oncology-related treatments, including ongoing assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and interventions, identifying changes in condition and responding appropriately.

  • Administer medications and therapies in accordance with established clinical protocols and regulatory standards.

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and supportive care needs.

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

  • Uphold patient safety, infection control practices, and ethical nursing standards at all times.

  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and support a culture of respect, accountability, and teamwork.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the applicable state or jurisdiction.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.

  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior training or experience in the administration of chemotherapy treatments.

  • Experience working with oncology patients in an acute or specialty care environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a hospital or medical center setting focused on delivering high-quality inpatient care. Nurses in this role are expected to practice within established clinical guidelines while adapting to the evolving needs of patients and care teams.
