We are partnering with a large international law firm to hire a Mid-Level Financial Services Disputes Associate Attorney for its Seattle office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all phases of litigation, with a focus on Financial Services Disputes and Investigations, including white collar criminal matters, corporate internal investigations, civil regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, or False Claims Act cases.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Represent corporate institutions, Boards of Directors or corporate executives in federal and state court litigation and investigations, including class actions, regulatory enforcement investigations and actions, Attorney General inquiries, and arbitrations.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues involving federal and state consumer protection laws (e.g., FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, TCPA, ECOA) and other regulatory actions.
- Assist in managing discovery, including document review and production.
- Participate in witness interviews or depositions, client meetings, strategy sessions, and settlement negotiations.
- Coordinate with regulatory counsel on parallel investigations or enforcement matters.
- Assist in trial preparation and trial work.
Skills and experience required:
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with excellent academic credentials.
- Admission to the Washington Bar.
- Experience as a federal or state prosecutor or federal criminal defense lawyer.
- 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on regulated industries, including financial services or consumer finance.
- Proficiency in complex litigation and/or investigations, and in trial work are strong benefits.
- Experience with white-collar criminal defense, internal corporate investigations, or False Claims Act matters.
- Background handling regulatory or enforcement actions involving state and federal agencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-office teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, superior analytical skills, and the ability to manage client engagements.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and organize and assess large volumes of discovery.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities and assume a high degree of responsibility.
- Familiarity with AI permitted tools is a plus.
