The Opportunity We are a leading U.S.-based engineered solutions provider hiring an experienced Field Service Technician to support combustion and fired-equipment systems at refineries, petrochemical plants, and related industrial facilities nationwide.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise installation, startup, and commissioning of industrial burners and thermal oxidizers
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance on register burners, duct burners, flare systems, and associated controls
  • Provide customers with technical recommendations and training
  • Work directly with PLC-based control systems (programming, logic changes, HMI updates)
  • Complete detailed service reports and follow-up documentation

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Hands-on combustion experience with industrial burners (refinery, petrochemical, power gen, or similar)
  • Practical experience reading, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC logic (Allen-Bradley strongly preferred) and HMIs
  • Comfortable with basic electrical wiring, loop checks, and instrumentation
  • Ability to travel domestically ~75% (typically 1–3 weeks on site, then home)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card within first 6 weeks of employment
  • Must currently live (or be willing to relocate) within 50 miles of a major U.S. airport

Physical Requirements

  • Routinely lift 25 lbs, occasionally 50 lbs
  • Able to climb ladders, work at heights, bend, crawl, and maneuver in industrial environments
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and extended workdays when required

Preferred (Not Required)

  • 2-year technical degree OR military experience on boilers/combustion systems
  • 3+ years field service on refinery or petrochemical fired equipment
  • Specific experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix platforms
  • Background in steam generation, pulp & paper, or food-processing combustion systems
