Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a specialized cardiovascular intensive care team. This role is focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill cardiac patients, including those recovering from surgical and endovascular procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while advancing your professional expertise in a critical care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care through systematic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill cardiac patients.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, supporting patients throughout their recovery.

  • Monitor and manage patients' post-cardiac surgery, including procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, endovascular interventions, and other complex cardiovascular surgeries.

  • Assess and manage patients with heart failure, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate interventions during hospitalization.

  • Utilize specialized devices and technologies; training will be provided as needed.

  • Maintain documentation and follow standards of care according to professional nursing and advanced practice guidelines.

  • Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations as part of team coverage.

Qualifications / Must-Have Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP certification (AGACNP).

  • Minimum 2–3 years of critical care experience as an RN, NP, or PA in a cardiac or CVICU setting.

  • Demonstrated experience caring for patients with heart failure (can include mixed ICU experience).

  • Comfortable working night shifts and supporting rotating weekend/holiday coverage.

  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered, high-quality care.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Familiarity with complex cardiovascular patient populations including post-operative cardiac surgery, aortic repairs, and CABG/valve procedures.

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-acuity environment.

  • Willingness to learn and utilize specialized cardiac monitoring and support devices.
