Position Overview:
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing quality, risk management, and patient safety programs within a healthcare facility. The RN Director of Quality & Risk ensures that clinical operations meet regulatory standards and organizational goals, while fostering a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, exempt position with standard professional hours.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, coordinate, and evaluate activities within Quality/Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and related clinical departments. Manage staff performance and departmental objectives to meet operational and fiscal goals.

Serve as the facility’s patient safety officer and ethics/compliance leader, overseeing adherence to regulatory and organizational policies.

Implement strategies to improve clinical outcomes, support leadership initiatives, and enhance patient care experiences.

Conduct and oversee compliance investigations, ensuring policies are communicated and followed by staff, contractors, and affiliated personnel.

Coordinate regulatory and accreditation activities, including federal and state surveys, core measures, and compliance reporting. Serve as the primary liaison with oversight agencies.

Promote a culture where staff feel comfortable reporting safety concerns or compliance issues.

Use data and metrics to identify areas for process improvement and drive initiatives to reduce adverse patient events.
Required Qualifications:

Current RN license in the applicable state

Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program

Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings

Previous experience in quality, risk management, or clinical leadership roles

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification in healthcare risk management or patient safety (e.g., CPHRM, CPPS), to be obtained within two years of hire

Supervisory or leadership experience in a hospital setting
