Accounting Manager / Controller

Oversee and perform all general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to support management decisions.

Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation processes; ensure accurate reporting of material, labor, and overhead costs.

Coordinate with external CPA firm for audits, tax filings, and annual reporting.

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Supervise and mentor one accounting staff member; review their work for accuracy and completeness.

Support management with special projects, financial modeling, and process improvements.

Manage banking relationships, credit lines, and vendor accounts as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management principles.

Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP system) and Microsoft Excel.

Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a small-company setting.
