We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead our market expansion efforts and enhance the outreach of our instrument services. This pivotal role demands a seasoned individual with a robust sales background and a strategic mindset. Remote role; anywhere in the US.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to meet and exceed sales objectives within the Contract Research Organization (CRO), pharmaceutical industries, and large reference laboratories. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive industry network and expertise to foster relationships and drive strategic sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market share within targeted sectors.
- Generate and cultivate a network of referral sources through various business development activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
- Conduct persuasive presentations and product demonstrations to educate clients on our offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and address any technical issues promptly.
- Participate in meetings and discussions to align sales strategies with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of successful sales experience targeting CROs and pharmaceutical companies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sales within clinical laboratory and/or toxicology sectors.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments such as:
- Immunoassay (IA) - Beckman Coulter, ThermoFisher, Abbott
- Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) - Shimadzu, Agilent, Sciex
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary starting at $100,000, complemented by an uncapped commission plan.
