Job description:
We are seeking a motivated Highway Design Engineer to join our team in Malvern, PA. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse traffic and highway engineering projects, collaborate with local, county, and state clients, and develop your career in a supportive engineering environment.
The OpportunityAs a Highway Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating highway and traffic projects. You will apply engineering principles and standards to create roadway, traffic, and ADA plans, while supporting construction documentation and traffic safety studies. This role allows for independent work on assignments, with opportunities to contribute to multiple projects and gain hands-on design experience.
Key Responsibilities- Design roadways, traffic signal plans, signing and pavement marking plans, ADA compliance plans, and maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) plans.
- Develop detour plans, construction cost estimates, and project specifications.
- Perform traffic safety and impact studies.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Apply relevant design criteria, standards, and processes to execute assignments with limited supervision.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
What You Bring- Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
- Experience: 010 years in traffic or highway engineering design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with MicroStation, Civil 3D, Synchro, and MS Office preferred.
- Credentials: FE/EIT preferred.
- Strengths: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and maintain client relationships.
