We have a client looking for a senior-level safety engineer who’s ready to step into a role with real technical depth and influence. In this position, you won’t just be ticking compliance boxes—you’ll be the trusted advisor who plant leaders call when they hit a safety challenge nobody else can solve.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one key area—fall protection, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, robotics & automation safety, electrical safety, or structural design—with opportunities to expand into others.
- Provide engineering reviews and technical guidance on new projects, ensuring safety is built in from the very beginning.
- Evaluate and sign off on designs for structural and fall protection systems, including catwalks, engineered fall systems, and facility safety upgrades.
- Support capital projects by reviewing equipment modifications, automation safety, and vendor solutions.
- Serve as the technical advisor on-call for plant managers, safety managers, and engineers across multiple facilities.
- Travel 30–50% to facilities across North America to provide direct support, conduct reviews, and collaborate with operations teams.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
- 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Strong technical background with proven expertise in at least one of the following: fall protection, structural safety, robotics/automation, machine guarding, or lockout/tagout.
- Ability to review, advise, and communicate complex technical issues clearly across engineering and operations.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Senior visibility—you’ll be the technical advisor trusted by plant leadership across the U.S. and Canada.
- High impact—your engineering expertise will directly shape safer designs and reduce risk company-wide.
- Competitive package—$150–170K base + 20% annual bonus (with 2x stretch potential).
- Flexibility—remote-based, with meaningful travel to facilities where your expertise is needed most.
