- Lead, coach and mentor engineers and production associates
- Optimize the assigned machining area and be the area machining expert on troubleshooting and programming
- Manage capital equipment projects, including completing cost justifications and managing timelines and budgets
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships
- Communicate with customers during site visits
- Support production lines while increasing efficiencies and decreasing scrap
- Complete projects related to root cause analysis and troubleshooting downtime
- Utilize 2D and 3D modeling to improve line layouts and design fixtures and gauges
- Assist with new model activities, documentation and project management
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues
- Complete required reports and monitor business metrics and KPIs
- Communicate with operations and production associates to improve throughput
- Other duties as directed by engineering management
REQUIREMENTS for the Sr. Machining Engineer:
1. Minimum of an Associate’s degree with at least eight years of lead process engineering experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of lead process engineering experience
2. Experience working in machining environments with advanced working knowledge of machining processes
7. AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling for plant layout and/or fixture design
9. Willing to travel internationally when needed
10. Microsoft Office
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Automotive supplier work experience
2. Experience with horizontal machining centers
3. Electrical troubleshooting
