The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate should include the following:
- Design tooling and gating layouts for cast components using 3D CAD software.
- Provide crucial support to production and pattern departments, focusing on continuous improvement and tooling refinement.
- Develop comprehensive build and assembly documentation for tooling shop teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to support casting process improvements, including modeling, rework strategies, and defect reduction.
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:
- A technical degree or equivalent expertise, specifically in iron or metal casting tooling and essential Horizontal Molding experience is required
- Mastery in tooling design for castings, leveraging a technical engineering degree or extensive practical experience to innovate with molding patterns, core boxes, and precise gating for gray or ductile iron.
- Exceptional proficiency in 3D CAD/CAM tools such as AutoCAD, PowerShape, Pro-E/Creo, and Magma, with a proven ability to transform 2D concepts into intricate 3D models and seamlessly manage diverse file types (IGS, XT, STL, etc.)
- A solid work history
