About the Role:

  • Confidential leadership opportunity based in Phoenix, AZ
  • Key role in managing and delivering public works projects
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Mentor, supervise, and expand an engineering team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of public works infrastructure projects
  • Supervise, mentor, and grow a team of engineering designers and project engineers/managers
  • Assign daily work, review deliverables, and implement quality assurance and control procedures
  • Manage project schedules and budgets, including preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
  • Oversee and coordinate multiple projects concurrently with internal teams and external partners
  • Coordinate staffing and workload to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Drive business development efforts, maintaining and expanding client relationships with public agencies
  • Demonstrate independent decision-making and effective problem-solving in a leadership capacity
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, public agency personnel, and internal colleagues

Qualifications:

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of public works experience
  • Arizona Professional Civil Engineer registration in good standing
  • Significant experience in business development, client management, and public agency interactions
  • Proven ability to grow and manage talented staff
  • Familiarity with the Phoenix valley and ideally an existing local network or book of business
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • Strong management and supervisory skills

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time, in-office position in Phoenix, AZ
  • Potential for limited hybrid flexibility (12 days/week) after 612 months, based on performance and tenure
  • Candidates must be local to the Phoenix area
