Position: Full-Time Maintenance Technician
Location: Charleston Bulk Terminals
Shift: On-site, includes overtime, weekends, and vessel discharge support
Level 1 - $24.41
Level 2 - $25.55
Level 3- $28.60
Electrician - $35.97
Annual bonuses, along with quarterly incentives.
Job Summary:
- Diagnose, maintain, repair, assemble and install material bulk-handling equipment (conveyors, pulleys, motors, cranes, etc.).
- Assist in transporting and positioning of bulk handling machinery, equipment and components.
- Perform stick welding, cutting-torch operations, and align equipment for optimal performance.
- Bolt, rivet, weld, and fasten equipment to foundations or structures.
- Lubricate, adjust, and inspect moving parts, safety guards, and safety devices.
- Operate heavy equipment: torches, welders, forklifts, hand tools, and electric meters.
- Conduct preventive maintenance—lubrication, safety inspection, and functional testing of repaired equipment.
- Support vessel discharge operations as part of terminal cargo-handling team.
- A member of the general maintenance crew, perform duties pertaining to the maintenance crew; grease/lubricating bearings, rollers, belts, O/H crane bucket, crane cable repairs etc.
- Other functions as trained and assigned
Position Requirements
- Licenses & Cards: Valid driver's license & must be eligible for a TWIC card.
- Attendance & Flexibility: Reliable attendance required; must work shifts, overtime, weekends, and be available for emergencies.
- Willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment
- Teamwork: Able to follow direction from the Terminal Maintenance Supervisor; collaborate with coworkers.
- Attention to Detail: Must maintain organized schedules, follow procedures, and meet operational standards.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- 2–5 years working with conveying or material-handling systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in welding, alignment, and bulk-handling machinery.
