Note: This position offers a hybrid work schedule. Employees must be able to work on-site some of the time at our client’s Rancho Mirage, CA office.
Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have an active California Bar license and at least 1 year of experience handling workers’ compensation cases.

Job Description
- Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from intake to resolution
- Develop case strategy and evaluate legal issues, including medical and vocational evidence
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials as needed
- Draft legal documents including settlement demands, trial briefs, and motions
- Collaborate with and mentor legal support staff to ensure effective case progression
- Provide guidance to non-attorney staff and assist in challenging client communications
- Engage in ongoing client interaction, including negotiation and case evaluation
- Utilize legal case management systems (e.g., SmartAdvocate) for docket management
- Participate in internal team meetings, strategy discussions, and firmwide initiatives
- Help foster a supportive and positive team environment
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in California
- Minimum of 1 year of experience handling workers’ compensation cases (plaintiff or defense)
- 3+ years preferred
- Trial and deposition experience is a plus
- Strong legal research, writing, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multitask efficiently
- Professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
