ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – DATA PRIVACY & COMPLEX CLASS ACTIONS

Our client, a prestigious law firm recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms®, is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its Complex Class Action & Data Privacy Practice Group in Chicago. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an attorney interested in providing clients with data privacy and tech-related counseling and compliance, as well as defending technology providers and employers in class actions.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Bar admission in Illinois.

  • 3+ years of substantive experience in data privacy, class action defense, or related litigation.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on data privacy compliance and related technology-driven privacy matters.

  • Defend clients in privacy-related class action litigation, representing technology providers, employers, and other entities.

  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for trial.

  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop legal strategies and risk mitigation approaches.

  • Stay current on emerging legal issues related to biometric privacy and evolving data protection laws.
