Job description:
This position will focus on patent prosecution work for clients operating at the cutting edge of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. The associate will prepare and prosecute domestic and international patent applications, work on freedom-to-operate and due diligence matters, and collaborate directly with scientific and legal professionals. This is a technically engaging role with meaningful opportunities for long-term advancement and specialized mentorship within a top-tier IP practice.

Qualifications:
- 15 years of patent prosecution experience in a life sciences IP practice
- Advanced degree required; Ph.D. strongly preferred in a relevant biotech discipline
- USPTO Registration Number required (or must obtain within first 12 months)
- Proficiency in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in biotech-related technologies
- Demonstrated ability to interact with inventors, scientists, and in-house counsel
- Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Admission to practice law in California preferred
