Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the procurement process, including vendor management, contract negotiation, and supply chain management. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our organization has the necessary materials and resources to operate efficiently.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies and policies
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with other departments to forecast demand
- Coordinate timely delivery of goods
- Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing to purchase order issuance
- Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement

Experience:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of vendor management, supply chain management, and logistics
- Proficient in procurement systems and software
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is preferred
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualification Requirements

·         Bachelor's degree a plus.

·         10 years of purchasing experience with minimum 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in a discrete environment.

·         Able to read and understand manufacturing drawings.

·         Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently.

·         Excel at working with and creating a team environment.

·         Ability to work and communicate effectively with various departments – engineering, sales, finance and plant operations.

·         Familiarity with MRP and ERP, preferably in Dynamics GP.

·         Manufacturing background preferred.
