Full-Time, Days - No weekends
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the educator will be responsible for the development, facilitation, implementation of educational programs and maintenance of a positive educational milieu.
This is carried out by the coordination of programs that will continue to improve the quality of participant care through education, proper training, remediation and evaluation of Licensed Agency
Develops, implements, and evaluates new programs as needed and establishes a priority system to inservice training needs and the development of such programs under the direction of and with approval of the Director of Clinical Services.
Develops, presents, documents and provides resource material for educational and training needs and programs for Licensed Agency and staff.
Serves as program instructor for Licensed Agency and personnel training programs.
Provides for appropriate documentation of all staff inservice records.
Coordinates present inservice programs (on all shifts, as needed).
Assesses individual needs of Licensed Agency and staff for educational needs and remediation, both theory and clinical, and develops programs to meet those needs using available resources and staff, both in-house and outside speakers, instructors, etc.
Provides academic and clinical direction and follow-up for RNs/LPNs/HHAs.
Reviews resource material and maintains a resource library.
Monitors and maintains all equipment used by Education Department.
Assists in establishing a priority system to inservice training needs and the development of the programs.
Oversees the educational programs and ensures programs meet all current federal, state and local requirements, regulations, and corporate policies.
Participates in review, formulation and revision of policies and procedures as appropriate.
Assists in the Orientation Programs for all staff as requested.
Participates in off-site training and educational needs assessment/teaching/in-services under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services and Executive Director.
Audits and monitors compliance of staff and effectiveness of training/educational programs.
Attends CNY administrative meetings or other CNY meetings as requested.
Demonstrates adherence to all compliance policies and procedures and the code of conduct.
Displays compliance oriented behavior in the workplace.
Is responsible for promoting and fostering compliance in the workplace.
Adheres to service excellence by developing and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with all customers, internal and external, to include participants, families, team members, all staff throughout the organization, and community partners; performs responsibilities according to the highest quality standards.
Practices safety awareness, reports any possible safety/environment issues to supervisor and adheres to safety P&Ps
Performs other duties as requested.
BSN/BS and RN NYS license required. MS preferred.
Two years previous teaching experience highly desirable, two years' experience in geriatric setting preferred.
Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening) required.
Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point needed.
Knowledge of DOH and other relevant regulations needed.
Must be able to read and write English fluently.
